Scientific evidence has not found evidence to support the premises or supposed effects described in astrological traditions. Where astrology has made falsifiable predictions, it has been falsified. The most famous test was led by Shawn Carlson and included a committee of scientists and a committee of astrologers. The contemporary flavor of astrology has a closer relationship with the social science of psychology than the observational science on which it used to be based.
Astrology is glorifying, it gives a sense of communion with the cosmos and promises to bring a little magic to your day to day life. Even if an astrological configuration means problems, the modern astrologer will describe it as an “opportunity for growth, as if they were a condescending intermediate administrator. Originally, astrology flourished in the Hellenistic period along with several sciences such as mathematics, medicine and engineering. Traditional Hellenistic astrology brings a rigor and harmony to the astrology that modern methods swept away.
Astrology had its heyday in the Mediterranean in the Hellenistic period, an era that took place between the 3rd century BC. C. and the 1st century AD. He regularly referred to astrology in his books published from the 1920s to the 1970s, offering a legitimate reference point for astrology to those who would not touch the theosophical mania of the new age with a 10-foot pole.
Until recently, explorers of modern astrology did not even have adequate access to the classical astrological texts on which their predictions were based. Jung, who created the psychological categories of introversion and extroversion and formed the basis for the popular Myers-Briggs personality test, placed astrology on a par with mythology to explain the workings of the human psyche. The New York Times recently stated that the “astrological boomlet is due both to the dynamics of the modern Internet and to any kind of cosmic meaning about the place of the millennium in the universe. In the early 1990s, a group of astrologers decided to translate this and other classic works in the hope of recovering something worthwhile.
Modern astrologers still refer to Jung's interest in astrology as a sign of his legitimacy, even though Jung himself said there was no causal relationship between what happened in the stars and what happened on earth. Modern astrology may be full of soft abracadabra thanks to combinations with psychology, but recently accessible ancient astrological methods could produce a renaissance in the power and credibility of the ship. It can be quite difficult to find new studies on astrology and that is because astrology has been refuted from start to finish, and there is very little incentive to carry out further studies. But in the last 20 years, traditional astrological texts have been translated into modern languages for the first time.
